Pinehurst Netball Club was founded in 1944 by our current club presidents Doreen Wilcocks and Jean Neville and has always strived to play at the highest possible level. In Dec 2008, the club was awarded the prestigious England Netball Gold Caps Award as well as the Sport England Clubmark award. The club currently boasts 7 qualified coaches and 10 qualified umpires with the club supporting any member that wishes to gain their qualifications. The club also benefits from having an accredited National Coach and Umpire Tutor along with an accredited 7 to 11 tutor.
The Club currently has a team in the South West Regional League Division 2 and five Senior teams in the Swindon and District Netball League.
A Team – Division 1
B & C Team – Division 2
D Team – Division 4
E Team – Division 5
For the mature netball player we also compete in the Swindon Over 35 League.
The Club also has a thriving junior section catering for 9 to 16 year olds. High 5 Netball is offered to 9-11 year olds with teams for U12, U13, U14, and U16 enterd into the Swindon Junior Netball League.
Teams at all levels are entered into National and Regional competitions on a regular basis.
Pinehurst Netball Club trains at Swindon Academy where we have the use of a new state of the art Sports Hall. The club caters for all levels of play and provides a varied programme augmented by outside experts in fitness and specific skills. Our coaches have a planned programme for the season, which encourages the development of both Players, Coaches and Umpires.
The Club may be over 60 years old, but its outlook is up to date with the modern game of Netball.
